Mechanism
It binds ergosterol in the fungal membrane and assembles into pores that let potassium and small molecules leak out. Human membranes use cholesterol instead, which is where the selectivity comes from, and its near total lack of absorption is why the oral form cannot treat anything past the gut wall.
