Flubromazolam is a designer benzodiazepine and one of the most potent known, active in extraordinarily small amounts. It is a triazolo compound that enhances GABA to produce very heavy sedation, amnesia and, at higher doses, prolonged unconsciousness. Its combination of extreme potency and long duration makes it exceptionally dangerous and it has been linked to serious poisonings.

Mechanism
Flubromazolam is a positive modulator at the benzodiazepine site of the -A receptor; the triazole ring gives it very high potency, so it strongly enhances GABA-driven chloride flow and suppresses neural activity at minute quantities. This produces intense sedation, muscle relaxation and dense anterograde amnesia, and its long duration means the deep effects can persist for a long time.
