Flubromazepam is a designer benzodiazepine notable for an extremely long duration; a single dose can produce effects and residual impairment lasting into multiple days. It enhances GABA at the GABA-A receptor for sedation, anxiety relief and muscle relaxation. Its very long half-life makes accumulation and next-day impairment a particular hazard, on top of the usual benzodiazepine risks.
- Long-lasting sedation
- Anxiety relief
- Muscle relaxation
- Extreme duration and accumulation
- Prolonged next-day impairment
- Amnesia
- Dependence and protracted withdrawal
Mechanism
Flubromazepam is a positive modulator at the benzodiazepine site of the -A receptor, increasing chloride-channel opening in response to GABA and broadly dampening brain activity. It is a long-lived compound with active metabolites (including a flubromazolam-type product in the body), which helps explain its unusually extended duration and its tendency to build up with repeated dosing.

Safetyrisks and cautions, not medical advice
The very long half-life is a distinctive danger; effects outlast what people expect, so redosing before the previous dose has worn off causes dangerous accumulation. As with all benzodiazepines, combining it with opioids or alcohol stacks respiratory depression and can be fatal. It causes sedation and amnesia, and regular use brings dependence with a protracted, seizure-risk withdrawal that must be tapered. Not medical advice.
Subjective profileweighing the evidence above
The duration is the danger; a single dose can leave impairment running for days, so redosing stacks it into territory nobody intended. Add opioids or alcohol and the respiratory depression can be fatal, and dependence arrives with a protracted, seizure-risk withdrawal.

FAQ
Why is flubromazepam's duration a problem?
It lasts far longer than a typical benzodiazepine, so people often redose too soon and stack up dangerous amounts before the first dose has cleared.
Is it a licensed medicine?
No. It is a designer benzodiazepine with no approved medical use and limited human data.
How long can impairment last?
Because of its very long half-life, grogginess and impaired coordination can persist for a day or more after a single dose.
