Mechanism
ASC41 is metabolized by the liver enzyme CYP3A4 into its active form, ASC41-A, which selectively activates thyroid hormone receptor beta over the alpha subtype. THR-beta activation in liver cells promotes fatty acid breakdown and biogenesis (the liver's fat-burning machinery), reducing fat accumulation, inflammation, and fibrosis markers while limiting the systemic thyroid-hormone-like effects that come from activating the alpha subtype elsewhere in the body.
