25N-NBOMe is the N-(2-methoxybenzyl) derivative of the psychedelic phenethylamine 2C-N; addition of the benzyl group converts a moderate psychedelic into an extremely potent serotonin 5-HT2A receptor agonist that is active in the microgram range. In vitro it ranks among the most potent NBOMe agonists at 5-HT2A, with reported EC50 values near 0.1 nanomolar, high 5-HT2A over 5-HT1A selectivity, and additional adrenergic alpha-1 and off-target mu-opioid activity. Preclinical studies indicate rewarding and reinforcing properties mediated through the dopaminergic system, and the compound undergoes extensive hepatic phase I metabolism. Because active doses are so small, the margin between a threshold effect and serious sympathomimetic toxicity is narrow, and NBOMe compounds are frequently misrepresented as LSD, a pattern linked to reported intoxications and fatalities.

Mechanism
Like other psychedelics, it works mainly as an at the receptor; the 2-methoxybenzyl (N-benzyl) substitution dramatically increases binding affinity and potency relative to the parent 2C-N. This high potency plus off-target activity at other serotonin and receptors is thought to drive its stimulant and vasoconstrictive load.

Safetyrisks and cautions, not medical advice
The NBOMe family has a dangerously narrow margin; overdoses can bring severe vasoconstriction (blood-vessel clamping), seizures, dangerously high blood pressure and heart rate, hyperthermia (overheating), and death. Because it is active at microgram levels, eyeballing a dose is not realistic and mis-sold blotter is a recurring cause of injury. Combining it with stimulants, MAOIs, or other serotonergic drugs raises the risk of serotonin toxicity and cardiovascular collapse. Not medical advice.
Subjective profileweighing the evidence above
Avoid this one. Active in the microgram range means no dose can be judged by eye, and the NBOMe family's margin is narrow enough that severe vasoconstriction, seizures, hyperthermia and deaths are all on the record. The visuals do not justify that risk.

FAQ
Is 25N-NBOMe the same as LSD?
No. It is often mis-sold as LSD on blotter, but it is a completely different, more physically dangerous compound with a much narrower margin.
Why is it so risky?
It is active at microgram doses and causes strong vasoconstriction and seizure risk, so small errors in dose can cause serious harm.
Can you test for it?
Reagent kits can help distinguish NBOMe compounds from LSD; NBOMe reacts with reagents that LSD does not.
Adverse effects
- Severe vasoconstriction
- Seizure and hyperthermia risk
Notes and cautions
- Very narrow safety margin
- Body load and muscle tension
