J-147 is a curcumin derivative built to do what curcumin could not, which is survive absorption and reach the brain. It binds ATP synthase and is associated with raised BDNF; it is the neurotrophic member rather than the antioxidant one.
NACET is N-acetylcysteine ethyl ester, and the ester is the entire reason it is here rather than plain NAC. Ordinary NAC is poorly absorbed and poorly brain-penetrant; the ethyl ester crosses membranes far more readily and is cleaved inside the cell, so it raises intracellular cysteine and therefore glutathione, which is the body's own principal antioxidant rather than a supplied one.
Emoxypine Succinate works on the membrane itself, stabilising it against lipid peroxidation; that is the damage the water-soluble antioxidants are least able to reach. R-Alpha Lipoic Acid is the cofactor for pyruvate dehydrogenase, the step that feeds the respiratory chain, and it regenerates other antioxidants once they have been spent. It is the R enantiomer specifically; the racemate is half inactive and is what most products contain.
